First TV Sitcom Golf Tees in network FirstRun TV

As part of his expanding slate of original series, network of FirstRun.tv (www.FirstRun.tv) has debuted a comedy of half-hour new unusual based on the world of golf and golfers.  "The Quartet of heights of danger" is aimed at people of 30 million who play golf in the United States and 60 million worldwide.

The premise of "the Quartet of danger Heights" focuses on a fictional small American town, heights of danger and a group of four local which, through a fun sequence of events unexpectedly meet to play golf at the local course.  Included are expert selfish self-proclaimed golf (not!), an average man who hasn't played golf in a couple of years and two rookies complete - in total, three boys and a girl.  The curious dynamics of this group dates from fifteen years ago when they all attended with danger Heights High School together.  Could the rookie girl actually beat the egotistical first coming out?  The laughs begin with the episode's debut and continue in subsequent episodes like this freak team ends up playing golf every Saturday.

Created by executive producer Gary Kleinman, the idea was developed as it struggled to improve his golf game.  "I'm a terrible golfer," says Kleinman, "but I am totally addicted to the game, along with many of my friends and family."  It took note of his observations about the people who play golf and the funny things that make on the golf course.  "I I believe in no other sport or hobby that dedicates much despite the fun as how frustrating it can be, and as people are about overcoming the frustrations at any cost."  Kleinman noted that golfers are constantly streamlining their game, get the rules wrong and do something to improve your swing, ranging from a microscopic "tiny elbow, shoulder, or adjustments, to go out and buy an aid to training or even new golf clubs every week Chin, it's always something!" Indebtedness of all humorous things that has been observed in the field of golf, was born a sitcom.

Casting for the program included an extensive search of comedians who were also good golfers with the opportunity to modify their approach in their fictional characters of skill level.  A cast was assembled including Michael Rosinsky, Jeff Tendall, Steven Lamprinos and T'Lane Balue.  The pilot episode was written by Dan Southwick and Gary Kleinman and was filmed in the Country Club Golf Course Knollwood in Granada Hills, California.  "The Quartet of heights of danger" can be seen now in www.FirstRun.tv - channel 4.

Golf by Design's Secret For A Perfect Golf Game

Golf Designer James Wilcher director of Golf By Design is pleased to reveal the secret for the perfect golf game: a holistic golf course design built around his fourth dimension concept.

The concept emphasizes beauty as well as the critical importance of proper consideration and placement of every aspect of the golf course landscape.

That means texture, grass colour, bunker style and depth and complete integration of the vertical landscape must be considered.

More specifically, a great golf course design should include these elements:

Golf by Design Creates Courses For All Levels

Regardless of handicap, everyone should be able to enjoy a good golf course. That means the course can’t favour one kind of player or another. Achieving this involves thoughtful hazard placement, tee location options, fairway widths, rough depth and green design including size, shape and slope.

Such strategic golf course design elements should not be obvious but rather something only revealed after repeated play. Golf by Design strategic development encourages repeated visits to fully experience the course.

Textural Diversity

Diversity of textures enhance the playing appeal and presentation of a well-designed golf course.

Like subliminal messages that convey the course’s character and interest, textures should be nurtured and developed. Textural diversity is crucial to the playing dynamics of the course as well as its environmental appeal and aesthetic.

Sustainable Golf Course Management

Long after the design phase is complete, a golf course remains as a gift to future generations. More than ever before, environmental sustainability is an issue that must be considered.

Today’s great golf courses are carbon positive and incorporate solid environmental practices to make them increase in value to their target audience over time. Golf by design team achieves through carbon footprint mapping during the planning, design, development, construction and maintenance phases of the project.

Management Of Site Biodiversity

James Wilcher lists efforts to ensure a biodiverse and healthy site include:
• ground and surface water management to the highest standard, including water usage planning, rainwater harvesting, runoff and wastewater recycling and water filtration.

• buffer zones between the course and significant ecological areas like wetlands, forests and other treasures,

• preservation, enhancement and management of natural waterfront areas,
•  preservation, enhancement and management of native wildlife habitats,
•  proper turf grass selection for the area and its usage,
•  good soil management and erosion control measures designed to prevent soil loss and degradation,
•  energy conservation,
•  management of air and noise pollution,
•  protection of sensitive receptors,
•  staff and player education about the important of preserving and protecting the site and its surroundings,
•  design of top-of-the-line facilities for handling hazardous chemicals and wash downs so that contamination is eliminated,
•  and much more.

Golf by Design competent designer complement and improve upon the course site and its surroundings rather than detract from it. They work with the landscape rather than in opposition to it.

If a site has few natural amenities and is constrained by commercial objectives or flood control issues, for example, the best designers are able to apply strategic and creative design concepts like those outlined in this fourth dimension concept.

An experienced designer like James Wilcher from Golf by Design  can create a natural oasis that satisfies everyone’s needs and adds beauty to the area for decades to come.

Goodwill Third Annual Golf Tournament

Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida’s third annual golf fundraiser will be held Sunday, May 19 at Coral Oaks Golf Course in Cape Coral. Last year’s tournament successfully raised $15,000 in gross proceeds to benefit the agency’s programs and services and Goodwill is hoping to raise even more at this year’s event.

“This is such a fun way to give back to the community,” says Goodwill’s Community Relations Coordinator, Madison Mitchell. “Not only do participants get to play on a beautiful course but, the proceeds raised go right back into Southwest Florida through Goodwill’s programs and services.”

The Goodwill Golf Classic will feature a raffle, and multiple contests such as Closest to the Pin, 50/50 raffle, and a longest drive competition. If the Hole in One challenge has a winner, he/she will receive a Pebble Beach golf getaway vacation for 2, including roundtrip airfare, valued at $7,500.

The cost to play is just $60 for a single player, $240 for a 4-person team and $100 to sponsor a hole.

“It’s because of events like this one, and because of our donors and shoppers that we were able to assist over 30,000 people with disabilities and disadvantages in Southwest Florida last year,” explains Mitchell. “We wouldn’t be able to do that without the support of the community.”

To RSVP or for more information on the Golf Classic, call Madison Mitchell at (239)995-2106 ext. 2213 or email madisonmitchell@goodwillswfl.org.

Goodwill Golf Tournament

Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida’s third annual golf fundraiser was held May 19 at Coral Oaks Golf Course in Cape Coral. Over 100 players put on their golfing shoes for the event, which raised over $11,000 in gross proceeds to benefit the agency’s programs and services.

Fred Parham, Ted Myers & Anthony Myers from Myers & Parham walked away with a first place score of 54, while SunTrust finished in second place with 56, and The Thompson Agency finished at third with a score of 57.

Despite coming in last place, Gulfcoast Consulting Group walked away with a Bowland bowling party gift certificate to try their hand at another sport.

“We cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed the Goodwill Golf Classic,” says Teely Byrd, of Gulfcoast Consulting Group, Inc. “Everyone involved was great and the event was extremely organized. We can surely say that we will be back next year to protect our title of the team with the highest score!”

Contests, raffles, and games were all featured during the tournament including a hole-in-one contest that offered a golfing excursion to Pebble Beach valued at $7,500 to the winner. While no one landed an ace on the grand prize hole, Bob Bravard, a teacher at Caloosa Elementary, was lucky enough to get his first career hole-in-one during the tournament on an auxiliary hole, winning a $500 Visa gift card.

“I’ve been playing for 46 years,” says Bravard. “This is my first hole-in-one. It’s great!”

Another contest was the Fuzzy Dice Game, which gave players a chance to roll a die in order move to a closer tee-off point. This year, the Fuzzy Dice Game was run by Florida Sled Hockey Association coach Ron Robichaud and some of the team’s players. The team, which is comprised of athletes with physical disabilities and is sponsored by Goodwill, was able to raise over $430 during the tournament.

Cook, Jr. and their family have said how grateful they are for the generosity of everyone over the years.

Jordyn’s grandfather, Peter Cook Sr. of Marshfield, recounted an amazing act of generosity at last year’s tournament that he said moved him deeply. Last year, retired railroad conductor Joseph Motte of East Bridgewater won the grand raffle prize of $25,000, but turned the entire amount back to the Fund.

Peter Cook Sr. said that their family was so moved by the generosity of this individual that they plan to recognize him at this year’s tournament. “Joe’s story speaks to the selflessness of people who want to help someone in need,” he said, adding, “We were all so touched by his generosity, and of course the generosity of everyone who has helped over these last six years.”

Seizures from epilepsy result in up to 45,000 deaths in the U.S. annually, more than the number from breast cancer. Epilepsy affects more people than Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Muscular Dystrophy and blindness combined.

Because the Fund is so close to achieving its goal, the tournament directors have reduced the prices for participation this year, as a “thank you” to all who have helped in the past. The fee for individual golf is $75, or $300 per foursome. The entry fee includes lunch, golf with cart and a sit-down dinner. Non-golfers who are interested in dinner only can do so at $35 per person.

The format of the tournament is a scramble. Contests will include “Closest to the Pin,” “Longest Driver” and a $25,000 putting contest.

There are also a few sponsorship opportunities remaining. For additional information, please call the Jordan Cook Epilepsy Fund (JCEF) at 781-837-9222 or visit www.jordyncookepilepsyfund.org. The Fund’s offices are located at 475 School Street, Suite 5, Marshfield, MA 02050.

Now all your favorite drinks are able to be served the way they were intended to be, perfectly pure and precisely chilled. Sipping Stones are non-porous meaning there is no odor or taste to tarnish your drink. And unlike ice, Sipping Stones provides a smooth chill that does not overwhelm the character of your beverage. Each set of Sipping Stones comes with nine finely crafted cubes made from soapstone, a safe alternative to ice. Sipping Stones is a great gift for anyone who loves the perfectly chilled beverage. Or you can use it as a conversation starter at your next party. Simply keep the Sipping Stones in your freezer until you are ready to chill your favorite drink, alcoholic or otherwise.

Use: Rinse before first usage then place in your freezer until the stones are as cold as desired. When ready, add two or three stones to your glass. Fill the glass with enough liquid to cover the stones. Let the drink sit for a few minutes to allow the stones to chill your drink. After use, simply rinse and allow the stones to dry before returning them to your freezer. Never chew or attempt to eat.

About Soapstone: Known for its ability to maintain a temperature for long periods of time, natural soapstone is listed as Generally Regarded As Safe (GRAS) by the FDA. Soapstone is made up of talc which will not react to water, alcohol and or other drinks. If used with care, soapstone will not scratch your glasses.

Proper Usage: Sipping Stones are not meant to cool as a drink as quickly or as much as ice. They are intended to provide a slight chill-between 8 and 15 degrees-that will protect the taste without drowning the quality.

Lonnie Poole Golf Course Receives International Certification

NC State University officials are pleased to announce its Lonnie Poole Golf Course has passed strict sustainability standards and become a certified Audubon International Signature Golf Sanctuary and member of the organization’s Signature Program. The golf course joins Kansas State University’s Colbert Hills Golf Course as the only two university properties in the world to earn this certification.

Established in 1996, Audubon International’s mission is to work with others to deliver high-quality environmental education and to facilitate the sustainable management of land, water, wildlife, and other natural resources in all places people live, work and play. The Lonnie Poole Golf Course, located on NC State’s Centennial Campus, meets these qualifications due to careful planning to fit managed turfgrass seamlessly into the surrounding environment. The golf course also serves as a “living lab” for sustainable turfgrass management and environmental stewardship.

Danesha Seth Carley, sustainability program coordinator for the NC State College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, was integrally involved with the planning and construction of the golf course. Carley said that Audubon International certification was always the goal.

“The success of the golf course industry transition towards sustainability will depend, ultimately, on changing the awareness of sustainability issues within the industry and its clientele,” Carley said. “Everyone must understand the relationship between their everyday lives and the resources on which they depend. This course is specifically designed to uphold these sustainability elements.”

Charles Peacock, a professor in NC State’s crop science department, emphasized that the Signature Program is an “elite” Audubon International category. Peacock, who has worked for the past 15 years with close to 200 different signature projects worldwide, said that only new locations are considered for Signature Program membership, making the certification particularly notable. There are only 92 other Signature Sanctuaries in the entire world.

“It’s in a whole separate category, and it’s a very selective category,” Peacock said.

One of the golf course’s distinguishing features is the extensive, undisturbed vegetative buffer areas. These buffers include mixtures of fine-fescues, native warm-season grasses, loblolly pines, American beautyberry and butterfly weed. It is not uncommon for golfers to see deer, beaver, and even foxes during a round, despite being surrounded by the city of Raleigh.

“These buffers were integral to the design and were a big part of what allowed us easy Audubon International certification,” Carley said.

Tom Rufty, a professor in NC State’s Crop Science department, helped lead the initial push for Audubon International certification during the Lonnie Poole Golf Course construction in 2007. Rufty said the golf course maintenance staff, led by Superintendent Brian Green, were key in the installation of the adapted plants and overall turf maintenance.

“The staff are aware of the importance of environmental protection and the distinction of the Audubon Program,” Rufty said.

Another winning feature is the surrounding constructed wetlands.

“Wetlands are natural water filters,” Carley continued, citing research from NC State that the constructed wetlands provide many ecological benefits. “The biological, chemical, and physical conditions within wetlands create ideal conditions for removing many pollutants from water.”

It’s Always Been the Place for Golf

Arguably one of the top golfing locations in the Midwest, Lake Geneva is known for its 22 beautiful courses that combine lush landscapes with inspirational challenges and earned bragging rights. Nowhere else in America’s Heartland is this outstanding variety and easy accessibility available almost year-round.

“When it comes to golfing, Lake Geneva is an unmatched destination for three of four seasons of the year,” said Grace Eckland, marketing & PR director, Lake Geneva Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We uniquely accommodate serious players and competitors, as well as beginners, women and kids with various courses, lessons and special opportunities.”

Championship courses in the Lake Geneva Area were designed by some of the most prominent names in the game, including Palmer, Nicklaus, Player, Trevino, Dye and Cupp. And Golf Digest, Golf Magazine and Conde Nast Traveler each have named several of the area’s courses among the best in the region and the country.

Golfers can choose from two tournament-quality 18-hole courses at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, or hit the links at any or all of the three championship courses at the Geneva National Golf Club. Abbey Springs Golf Course and Hawk’s View Golf Club, with a 4-1/2-star rating by Golf Digest, showcase rich, wooded beauty and mature vegetation.

Located among 275 tree-lined acres, Lake Lawn Resort’s championship golf course in Delevan is a historic masterpiece, first opened in 1921 and then spectacularly re-engineered in 1990 by renowned architect Dick Nugent, known for his work at Kemper Lakes.

The 27-hole public course at Evergreen Golf Club has been recognized as an outstanding value, and Country Club Estates, once a private golf course, facilitates a quick game over its nine hole, par 35 wooded, hilly terrain. And beginners, families and kids can enjoy a walkable par-3 experience on the Barn Hallow Course at Hawk’s View, or tee up on the 18-hole miniature golf course at Paradise Golf Park alongside cascading waterfalls.

Many courses also offer clinics, lessons and special tee times to meet the needs of individuals or for group outings. And when golfers hit the 19th, or 37th or 73rd hole, they can take advantage of the multitude of nearby accommodations, dining options and attractions that make up the Lake Geneva area.

Golf courses are open in summer, fall and spring to maximize playing time and take advantage of seasonal highlights. For information, visit www.lakegenevawi.com or call (800) 345-1020.

Michael Strahan, Jason Kidd, and More to Tee Off for a Good Cause

Newark Mayor and Senate hopeful, Cory Booker will be hitting the putting green for a good cause. Booker will host Newark Mentoring Movement’s (NMM) second annual Celebrity Golf Outing along with “LIVE with Kelly & Michael” co-host, Michael Strahan.

On Monday, July 15, 2013 at 10 a.m. some of the area’s most celebrated sports stars will come together at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, NJ for a daylong golfing fundraiser. New York Giants’ David Diehl and Justin Tuck, Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd and point guard Deron Williams will join sportscaster Erin Andrews, former New York Giant, Tiki Barber, and former NBA player and coach, Isaiah Thomas, at the event aimed at raising awareness and money to support mentoring in Newark.

“Spending just one hour a week mentoring a child can have a huge positive effect on their life,” Booker said. “I’ve been a mentor since college and it hasn’t been an act of charity. It has enriched my life as much, if not more, than the young people I’ve worked with.”

Through its works as an ancillary organization, NMM, enhances Newark’s mentoring community and increases opportunities for youth to obtain qualified mentors. NMM provides training, technical assistance, networking, and resource development. As a citywide partnership that champions mentoring as a proven and necessary strategy for improving the lives of Newark’s youth, NMM also operates as a clearinghouse and referral source. The Celebrity Golf Outing helps the organization raise crucial operational and programming funds.

“NMM is grateful to have support from Mayor Booker and Michael Strahan who have graciously signed on as spokespersons since our inception in 2012, and from our Champion sponsors, United Airlines and Bloomberg,” explained Aaron Martin, Executive Director of Newark Mentoring Movement.  “We all understand and truly believe that mentoring works and together we’re striving to bring a quality mentor to every deserving youth in the city."

The Celebrity Golf Outing has 19 foursomes registered to participate in the event. Each foursome is comprised of community members, local politicians, youth advocates, or volunteers and will become a team of five with the addition of one celebrity. Additional event sponsors include: Under Armour, Kenneth Cole, Aveeno, RoC, Don Julio, NFL, “LIVE with Kelly and Michael”, NY Giants, NFL on FOX, BNY Mellon, Vassilaros Coffee, Bobbi Brown, and Trump Hotel.

“Mentoring across the board empowers our kids to succeed” Booker said.  “I have seen the data that is unequivocal, it is a powerful impact of just having a caring adult in somebody’s life for four hours a month.”

Attendance at the Celebrity Golf Outing is by invitation only. For more information or to make a donation please visit www.newarkmentoring.org

Marzolf discusses updates to Merion Golf Club and 2013 U.S. Open

American Society of Golf Course Architects Past-President Tom Marzolf knows people want to hear about the modifications he and Tom Fazio, ASGCA, have made to Merion Golf Club as it prepares to host the U.S. Open Championship June 13-16 in Ardmore, Pa. But they might be missing the main story.

“The story is the history of Merion and inviting a new generation back to play one of the great golf courses in America,” he said. “Merion has hosted more USGA championships than any course in the country. All we have done is helped the club meet their goal to present this property to the next generation.”

Marzolf made his comments during the recent 67th ASGCA Annual Meeting at Greensboro, Ga. The three-day meeting provided ASGCA members with continuing education through high-level presentations from fellow members and industry leaders.

Marzolf was thinking, in part, of Bob Jones clinching golf’s first-ever Grand Slam in 1930 on Merion’s 11th green.

“Bob Jones win at Merion in 1930 may have been more significant than even the 1981 U.S. Open win by David Graham, or the 1950 U.S. Open and Ben Hogan’s famous one-iron to help force the playoff,” he explained. Hogan went on to win the 18-hole playoff against Lloyd Mangrum and George Fazio, Tom Fazio’s uncle.

“When we were first studying to work on bunker restoration, we saw photos from the 1930 Amateur with Jones on the course,” Marzolf said. “You feel the presence of Jones when you walk Merion. The place has a distinct link to the history of golf in America.”

Since every golf course is a living, changing evolution through time, club owners had to decide what era they wanted the Merion of today to reflect back upon. When you restore a course with this much history, which era is most significant?

“The Club believes the greatest thing to ever happen here may have been the Jones win in 1930, so that was the benchmark year to restore the course’s visual appearance and strategy,” Marzolf said. “We re-created the visual of the 1930’s. It was a lot of fun and hard work. The 1930’s look presents a character and charm that has added to the feel of history as you walk the layout.”

Marzolf has been working on the compact, cart-path free 130-acre course since 1999, along with Fazio. The course played to 6,480 yards then and will play to just under 7,000 yards for the 2013 U.S. Open.

“People used to say, ‘You cannot lengthen Merion, or eh new equipment has impacted Merion,’” Marzolf said. “We answered that by walking the course and finding additional yardage. You can lengthen any hole if there is land behind the tee.”

At Merion, such a move proved easier on the front nine than the back. For the U.S. Open, the front side will play at over 3,700 yards, the back nine at 3,250.

The 14th hole is a prime example of the challenges Marzolf faced.

“The tee is adjacent to the 18th green and in front of the clubhouse area,” he said. “We lengthened the 14th hole onto the members’ putting green. We rebuilt that area and players at the 2005 U.S. Amateur and 2009 Walker Cup played right off the putting green.

“This was well received, and we extended the green and made 14 longer, picking up 35 more yards of putting surface to use as a tee for the U.S. Open.”

Also, the 14th tee was shifted to allow for a larger grandstand on the nearby 18th green.

“From this tee location, adjacent Golf House Road is very close,” Marzolf said. “Some players may try to hit over the bending curve of the road to get further down the fairway.”

Many tees on the back nine – including 10-13 and 16 – already sit up against roadways or out of bounds, so no changes to length could be made. The 12th was lengthened by clearing land and changing the angle of how the hole is played.

“A hole I will be watching closely is 15,” Marzolf said. “It is a mid-length par 4, with Golf House Road on the left side. The road curves along the dogleg of the hole with about a yard-and-a-half from the edge of pavement to edge of the fairway.

“We also moved bunkers in on the right-hand side. So out of bounds is on the cutline on the left and there are three bunkers down the right. Players may lay up in front of the bunker off the tee and have mid-irons to the green; or hit a driver to attempt a long carry over the bunkers.”

The course has just two par 5’s, the 2nd and the 4th. Four plays over 600 yards, while the 5th is a par 4 playing over 500 yards. That’s right, there are no par 5’s on the back nine.

“Now you have an interesting combination of very long golf holes and also many short holes,” Marzolf said. “That describes Merion.

Hole length vary and historical significance describes the challenge awaiting competitors at Merion Golf Club for the U.S. Open Championship.

A foursome is $1,700 and the per player fee is $425. The day includes breakfast, on-course refreshments, lunch, dinner and awards reception, access to club amenities, greens fees and gratuity. "We look forward to holding our 19th Annual Golf Tournament on this beautiful championship golf course. For more than 30 years, I've been involved in organizing golf outings and I promise that this is going to be the best outing to date and also one of the finest in the state,” said Jim Petillo, Chair, 19th Annual Golf Tournament, New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Foundation.

Proceeds from the event benefit the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial and Vietnam Era Museum & Educational Center.  The Memorial  "A Place To Remember, To Heal and To Honor" recognizes those who served, especially the 1,562 New Jersey born soldiers who never returned home. In 2013, the Vietnam Era Museum & Educational Center will celebrate its 15th Anniversary, which since opening in 1998 has welcomed more than 185,000 visitors of all ages through its doors. The nonprofit New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation, with the help of volunteer Vietnam veterans, run the educational programming at the Museum and Memorial throughout the year.

During the Tournament's Dinner and Award Ceremony at 6:00 p.m., the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Foundation is proud to honor the late Ed Eget by presenting the Edward Eget Memorial Trophy to the foursome or team with the lowest score, using the Calloway method. Eget served in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot and was seriously wounded in action in June of 1969. His combat awards include the Air Medal with 16 clusters, the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Prior to Vietnam, Eget also received the highest non-combat related medal that can be awarded for valor, the Airman's Medal, for pulling passengers and crew from a burning airplane in Bermuda. Other prizes awarded include Team Prizes, Closest to Pin and Longest Drive.

“We are proud and humbled by the sacrifices, courage and valor of the Vietnam veterans,” said Peter Cancro, founder and CEO Jersey Mike’s Subs. “It's our honor to continue supporting the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation.”

"The Eagle Oaks Golf & Country Club is a championship caliber golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus and Johnny Miller. We are thrilled to be a part of this event held by such an honorable organization," said Domenic Gatto, Chairman and President, Eagle Oaks Golf and Country Club. "The New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Foundation is dear to my heart and I hope that we are able to raise enough funds to keep the Memorial and Museum going strong.  As a Vietnam veteran, I am proud to be part of this patriotic day.”

About The New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation

The New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation offers a meaningful and engaging experience that recognizes the sacrifices, courage and valor of Vietnam veterans and that encourages and fosters a thorough understanding of the Vietnam Era including the political, historical, social, cultural and military aspects, which affected the United States, and especially New Jersey.
