Shula’s Hotel & Golf Club will proudly host the Corey for St. Jude Golf Tournament for its 11th consecutive year this September. The tournament, which has risen over $300,000 since its humble beginnings, will take place this year on Monday September 30th, shortly after the course has reopened from major renovations this summer.
Corey Sticco is the son of the golf course’s superintendent Tim Sticco, which gives this tournament special meaning for all of the employees at Shula’s. Corey has been receiving treatment from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for the last ten years.
Shula’s Golf Club is currently looking for a number of tournament sponsors to help raise money for this noble cause. Through the sponsorship, companies are able to put marketing dollars into a noble cause and support the lifesaving work of St. Jude. Sponsorships vary in size and include a number of benefits for each individual sponsor. “This event has a special meaning to all of us here at Shula’s…I am asking for your support to help us raise money for this wonderful cause. Thank you in advance for your help,” said Kenny Fill, Director of Golf at Shula’s Golf Club. Kenny takes great pride in organizing this event each year.
In 1962 when St. Jude first opened, only 4 percent of children suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia lived to see adulthood. Today, thanks to the research performed at St. Jude, this number has reached an astounding 94 percent!
On behalf of Shula’s Golf Club and St. Jude Children’s Hospital, we ask you to join us in celebrating life and the hope that one day 100 percent of the children diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia enjoy long healthy lives. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, or would like more information, contact Kenny Fill, Director of Golf at 305.820.8170 or by email at Kenny.fill@donshulahotel.com. We also invite you to visit the Corey for St. Jude website to see a list of sponsors from last year’s event.
