USGA orphans are welcome at RecGolf

The USGA must be confused. Most of us would think that “For the good of the game™” means to get people playing, not excluding them! Today’s ban of golfers using an anchored long or belly putter makes rules breakers out of a large portion of those who truly enjoy the game. What a shame. In fact, hiding behind false representations of "tradition" - where none exists - has been the norm for golf for far too long. But all is not lost. The ban is a calling card for change in the sport.

RecGolf welcomes all types of recreational golf play, including the exiled ‘anchored stroke.’ For the millions around the world who have invested time and money into the art of putting unconventionally, RecGolf can be their new home. RecGolf invites anyone who wants a friendlier, less complicated, easier to understand and more fun game of golf to try their new model for the game. The focus is to Play Like A Pro!™, using scoring clubs for approach shots on every hole – just like the Pros.

In order to encourage and allow RecGolfers to Play Like A Pro, RecGolf offers new rules. Simple, short and easy to understand, the rules allow an anchored stroke. There is no need for the USGA's arcane, arbitrary and exclusionary decisions. As the final piece in simplifying and upgrading the fun in golf, RecGolf provides a new handicapping method that is fairer across all levels of ability.
